Over the past few weeks I have spent a lot of my time on the road with the amazing Arcane Roots, Jack of the wonderful In Dynamics and the gorgeous and talented photographer Carla Mundy! Out of 26 dates, I joined them for 12, spanning Colchester to Exeter and everywhere inbetween. For the first half of the tour they were supported by Black Peaks and Gallery Circus, and then by Carnival Kids and Gallery Circus as Black Peaks continued with their own tour dates.
We spent days driving through beautiful towns and cities, meeting great fans and hanging out with friends along the way. Unlike my other work, music photography is very fast paced and there is a lot of adrenaline involved. A great light show and great sound makes all the difference to how the band and fans react, and therefore how the photos turn out. Every night was a new experience in working with the venue to get great shots, and I really enjoyed the challenge and the fun that came with it. It’s always so exhilerating to see the connection between the band and the fans, and it’s so great to be able to travel the country with such great friends.
The boys closed their UK tour with two nights at the wonderful Oslo in Hackney, that involved a lot of dancing, riffs and so much fun. The first night saw a special rendition of their debut mini album ‘Left Fire’ and some tracks from their upcoming new release, and night two was a great mix of songs from the past years, including all the favourites from their debut full-length ‘Blood & Chemistry’.
It was so great to watch the fans lap up every second of the shows throughout the tour and to have the opportunity to tour with such great people in such great places all over the country. Next I will be joining Arcane Roots, Jack and Carla in Prague, and then continuing on for the rest of their shows in Europe. I AM EXCITED and hopefully i’ll see plenty of you there!
